AN AFTERNOON WITH ZARGANAR, Wednesday 6th June 2012, 2.30 – 4pm - Free Word Centre,

Zarganar is Burma’s leading comedian and an accomplished poet, writer, and director who throughout his career has used his artistic talents to draw attention to political repression in Burma.

Zarganar had been behind bars for more than four years when he was unexpectedly released on 12 October 2011 as part of a prisoner amnesty. Pressure from the international community is believed to have played a crucial role in his early release. Many joined the campaign to celebrate Zarganar’s release and his first visit to London since.

Zarganar will be participating in a couple of other events whilst here in the UK.
