Burmese community in France and Amnesty International were pleased to welcome Zarganar in Paris,where many NGOs and the Paris City Hall where involved for his release.

Zarganar met the organizations and officials that supported him during his prison years.

Reporters Without Borders finally had the pleasure of presenting Burmese blogger, comedian and actor Zarganar with the press freedom prize in the “Cyber-dissident” category that it awarded to him in December 2008, when he was in prison. Burmese community in France also gave Zarganar the Student Prize awarded by the Paris International Film Festival on Human Rights (FIFDH) to the film 'the prison where I live'.

After thankings, the comedian and satirist called for an help to officials (governemnt, regional and local personalities). Burma is still in transition, and needs experience, education first, Zarganar said.

Zarganar also gave interviews to several news media including RFI, Paris Match, Le Monde and La Chronique.
