Fresh out of prison, Zarganar gives his first interview at Myitkyina airport, before having a hero's welcome at Rangoon airport where Mizzima reporter records a moving video. The Irrawaddy get an interview immediately, while Mizzima did his own during the afternoon by phone. Democratic Voice of Burma goes on, as Wall Street Journal. The english speaking international press (BBC, The Guardian, Radio France Internationale , CBS, Al Jazeera, Straits times...) relays the information, as french speaking did (RFI, France 24, Le Figaro, Libération, Paris Match...). Swiss medias including Le Matin and Swiss Info, are the first : an original campaign to free Zarganar was launched by Amnesty Switzerland and humorist Yann Lambiel.
Then, came videos, most of them produced in the following days at Zarganar's home. Zarganar launched a few Jokes and puns , to the delight of his fans: they sent him enthusiastic messages, so far that a song is created !.It talks about the happiness to see again the comedian and his famous smile.
Zarganar announces he will assume his activities as an artist and politics, and he wants to embark on a prison tour to provide items and moral support to prisoners. A week after his release, on Wednesday 19, Zarganar is with Daw Aung San Suu Kyi and other leaders to mark the 49th anniversary of a famous political prisoner still detained. He was received by the Ambassador of France in Rangoon .
