Mrs Aurélie Filippetti, MP, Vice-President of Burma group of the National Assembly, expressed concern about the case of Zarganar with the Human Rights' Secretary.

Ms. Filippetti's Question. Zarganar, called "the Burmese Coluche", began to serve a 35 years prison detention, for having collected money and supplies for Hurricane Nargis refugees . He may be in a poor health condition. Do you have information ? Will France be involved to plead his case?

Mrs Rama Yade's response. Zarganar's case is among those that we submitted to the Burmese junta. Zarganar was among the 600 human rights, sentenced 4 months ago to heavy imprisonment stages, up to 20 or even 30 years in prison. They occurred one year after the release of a thousand prisoners, which made an illusion.
